Long-Nose Pliers with Cutter

I use these pliers for cutting wire and when attaching new hardware to furniture. I can get the bolt only to a certain tightness with my fingers alone, so having a pair of pliers on hand to finish the job is important. The long nose allows great access to small spaces and gives you a firm grip on nuts and bolts when tightening or trying to remove any kind of screw.

Orbital Sander

I use an orbital sander when preparing a furniture piece for paint, and sometimes for distressing if I want a heavy-handed distressing pattern. The circular motion is gentle on your furniture while at the same time removing any surface irregularities. Keep the sander moving with the grain of the wood. Let the sander do the work for you, and you will have a nice smooth surface in no time.
